Thanks for visiting my blog! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

Who I Am

I have many roles in my life. First of all, I’m a husband. I’ve been blessed to be married to my beautiful wife Elizabeth since 2001. And we’ve been blessed to have five daughters…which means that one of my other major roles in life is being a father. Having kids has been one of the best blessings God has ever given to me.

I also serve in the role and ministry of pastor. I’m a Confessional Lutheran pastor serving a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. (WELS) Most of the posts on this blog will flow out of this role as I continue to serve God and his people as I grow in his Word. It’s a challenging calling, but also a great blessing and privilege to bring God’s means of grace (the gospel in Word and Sacrament) to people who need it for salvation.

Which brings me to the last two roles I have. First of all, I’m a sinner. No, pastors aren’t perfect. I try to follow God’s commands, but all too often I fall short. I know this means I should be killed, destroyed, and lost forever in hell. But I’m not! Why? Because of my last role. I’m a saint. I’m perfect in God’s eyes because of my Savior. Jesus has made me a saint by living perfectly in my place. He’s assured me that I will live forever as a saint by dying in my place and rising again. I look forward to eternal life, when I will no longer play the role of sinner, but will be God’s saint forever.

What I Blog About

For the most part, my posts will be related to the  ministry I serve as a pastor, my thoughts on it, reflections on God’s Word and blessings. The blog may occasionally veer off into other tangents I find interesting. Definitely check out my first post that explains the purpose of the blog a little more fully.

Please feel free to make comments on the posts on the site. You don’t even have to agree with me; I’ll still let your comment stand for the most part. But if you are rude or crude or continue to make your point over and over I may have to delete it. Please, be respectful!
